On Saturday, September 19, the MetroWest Housing Coalition held its first community meeting, bringing together residents, service providers, elected officials, and advocates to connect, share experiences, and explore ways to create collective impact around the housing crisis in MetroWest.
The meeting provided an opportunity for community members to discuss how housing challenges are affecting individuals and families throughout the region and to brainstorm ways that residents, organizations, and community leaders can work together to advance housing stability and justice.
Representative Priscila Sousa joined the meeting and shared an overview of housing work taking place at the state level, as well as the importance of community and coalition advocacy in shaping housing policy and creating meaningful change.
The League of Women Voters was also on hand to provide onsite voter registration and education about voting rights, helping community members stay informed and engaged in the civic process.

The first community meeting marked an important step in bringing people together around a shared commitment to addressing housing challenges in MetroWest. By creating space for residents, community leaders, housing providers, and advocates to connect and collaborate, the MetroWest Housing Coalition is working to build a stronger, more informed, and more connected community.
